Welcome to the BbWorld 2010 page. I presented two break-out sessions in Orlando:
The first was a regular break-out session with an audience of system administrators in view. The second was part of the Upgrade Center LIVE series and reached out to anyone responsible for announcing the upgrade to Blackboard 9.1 on their campus. Below you will find the associated slides as well as links to resources I hope you will find helpful.

SWBTS Documents:
At the Educause site, I found some very good documentation on the educational implications of online technologies. This helped the SWBTS Upgrade Team as we looked at the pedagogy behind some of the new Blackboard 9.1 tools. One of the documents ("7 Things You Should Know about Blogs") is pictured below.
Upgrade group members asked several questions concerning the "why" of tools. Many wanted to see as much of an emphasis on the "why" as there is on the "how-to" at the Blackboard web site.
In the table below, I mapped the Educause documents to the corresponding Blackboard tool.
I highly recommend visiting the Eli 7 Things You Should Know web site at: http://www.educause.edu/7Things
NOTE: There are two tools in the table that are not associated with Blackboard - i.e., Webex and Camtasia - but are heavily used in the SWBTS online learning environment.
